By Car
From the South (Plymouth)
From the A38, turn off at A385 towards Totnes. Follow the road until you reach Dartington Village roundabout & take the second exit towards Totnes. *Follow this road until you pass Totnes police station (right) & take next right at traffic lights onto Western Bypass. Drive up hill, then take the next right at the traffic lights onto Plymouth Road. Drive for approximately 400 meters, then turn left into Fallowfields and immediately right into the drive of The Great Grubb.

From the North (Exeter)
From the A38 take the A384 exit for Totnes, drive for 5.5 miles, then turn left at Dartington Village roundabout. Follow above directions from*.

By Foot from Totnes Centre
We are located half way along Plymouth Road. To find Plymouth Rd, turn right at the top of Totnes High Street (opposite Café India). Walk for approximately 0.2 of a mile and you will find us on the left: turn into Fallowfields, then immediately right into our driveway.

By Train/Bus
We are located an approximate 15 minute walk from Totnes Railway Station. Buses also stop here on arrival in Totnes.

Follow signs to Totnes Castle and continue onto High Street. Then see above directions.

Please Note: Walking from the station involves a steep hill and if you have difficulty walking, or have heavy bags to carry, you may prefer to take a taxi. There is a taxi rank located at Totnes Railway Station. The journey will take approximately 2-3 minutes and cost in the region of £4.00. From Exeter Airport
Totnes is located approximately 45 minutes by car from Exeter Airport, depending on traffic. Follow directions to the A38 and then see above directions ‘By Car from the North’. If you take a taxi the cost will be in the region of £40 - £55, depending on the time of day.
There is also a bus service that runs into Exeter. The service numbers are 56 and 379. For further information and the times of the services, please visit the operator's web site:

From Exeter bus station you can then take a bus to Totnes - see web site for information.

Alternatively, there is an airport Taxi Bus Service which is the airport based taxi company and operates a Taxi Bus to Exeter St. Davids Railway Station and the Coach Station on demand, between the 56 and 379 services. A minimum of 3 people are required for this service to operate, (£5 per person). Taxi rates apply at other times.

From Plymouth Airport
Totnes is located approximately 35 minutes by car from Plymouth Airport, depending on traffic. Follow directions to the A38 and then see above directions ‘By Car from the South’.
If you take a taxi the cost will be in the region of £35 - £50, depending on the time of day.
There are also regular bus services that run into Plymouth from Derriford roundabout, this is about a 10 minute walk from the terminal. For further information and the times of the services please visit the operator's web site:

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
Upon arrival at The Great Grubb B&B, please walk to the main door between the buildings and ring the doorbell. Amy or Ben will check you into the B&B, show you to your room and assist you with your luggage. Our car park is located at the front of the building - please park here, as our neighbours get upset if they find cars on their property.

Car parking at The Great Grubb B&B is free, but there is limited availability. We ask that you park sensibly and with consideration for other guests and their vehicles. Please leave your keys with Amy or Ben if you are blocking in another car.

Access to the Bed and Breakfast
The car park is level and flat with a smooth tarmac surface. However, when accessing the B&B from the car park, there is one step up to the front door. You will then be on the ground floor and, depending upon which bedroom you have been allocated, will have one or two flights of stairs to negotiate (unless you have a ground floor room). We do have 4 rooms on the ground floor, so if this is preferable for you, please request this when booking with us. Unfortunately, due to the style of the building, it is not possible for us to install a lift.

Our dining room is located on the first floor. However, we can arrange for you to have breakfast in your room if this is preferable.

You may arrive at the B&B between the hours of 8am - 10pm. Arrivals after this time are by prior arrangement only. Guests staying at The Great Grubb will be issued with a key to both their bedroom and the main front door. If you need assistance please contact Amy or Ben by ringing the front doorbell.

The front door entrance is 83.5 cm wide and the width of the hallway and stairs is approximately 79.5 cm.

The main entrance is tiled with slate tiles, the hallways and stairs are carpeted and our guest dining room and guest lounge both have natural wood flooring.

Dining Room
Tables have an under-space of 65cm, by 75cm wide and a height of 77cm.
The Dining Room floor is natural wood flooring.
We cater for Vegetarians, Vegans and, with prior arrangement, other special dietary requirements.

Laundry
There is a laundry service available at The Great Grubb. Please speak to Amy or Ben for advice.

Leisure Facilities
None available. However, details are available of local services.

Grounds and Gardens
We have a garden and outdoor patio area with tables and chairs for you to enjoy. Access to the patio area is via the dining room and one step. Smokers can use part of this area and ashtrays are provided.

Conference & Meeting Rooms, Banqueting, Clubs, Entertainment

Bedrooms
We have 7 bedrooms in total, all of which are en-suite. 4 of these are located on the ground floor.

Additional Information
The Great Grubb B&B has a No Smoking Policy - the patio area may be used for this.
Dogs are welcome as long as they are well behaved and have their own box to sleep in.
Complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access is available throughout the building.
